Who can be a member of SUCC?

  1. REGULAR MEMBERSHIP – all natural persons who are Filipino citizens, of legal age, with the capacity to contract and possess all the qualifications and none of the disqualifications enumerated in the By-laws; and fall into the following categories:
    1. Full-time employees of:
      • Silliman University (SU)
      • Silliman University Medical Center Foundation, Inc. (SUMCFI)
      • SUCC MULTIPURPOSE COOPERATIVE
      • Silliman University Church
      • Silliman University Extension Program and their spouses even if not employed by the university
    2. All gainfully employed children of existing SUCC members
    3. All Silliman University Alumni who are gainfully employed, and are residing in the Philippines
    4. The above members, even if deemed retired, may continue with their membership with the cooperative if they so desire; and
    5. All other categories that the Board of Directors may decide on with the ratification of the General Assembly.
  2. ASSOCIATE MEMBERSHIP – are officially enrolled students of Silliman University ages 18 years old and above (no work yet)
  3. AFFILIATE MEMBERSHIP – are Junior Depositors, 17 years old and below
    • who are officially enrolled students of Silliman University; and
    • Children of existing SUCC members even if not enrolled/students in the University

What are the benefits of a SUCC member?

  1. SUCC Caring Fund (SCF)

    ***Php150.00 monthly (64 years old and below)

    • Financial assistance is equivalent to 25% of your gross hospital expenses, including medicines and doctor’s fees during your confinement.
    • Admitted patients are eligible to claim for the financial assistance. While, out-patient cases may be recommended by the SUCC caring fund doctor.
    • Maximum of Php10,000 financial assistance a month, or a maximum total of P30,000 a year.
    • Cancer or those with catastrophic illnesses can get financial aid for up to five years with their doctor’s certification. A yearly medical certificate is required, and Dr. Walden Ursos will determine if your disease is catastrophic.
    • Hospital bills/receipts with doctor’s medical certificate are required.
    • Must have paid at least 6 months prior to the claim.
    • Members are only given 90 days after discharge from confinement to file for the claim, or it will be forfeited.
  2. Social Service Fund (SSF)

    ***Php200.00 monthly contribution

    Two instances where the mortuary benefit is given:

    a. In cases where a member suffered a loss of a family member:
    • If single, Php10,000.00 financial assistance for the death of parents; or Php10,000.00 financial assistance for the child’s death.
    • If married, Php10,000.00 financial assistance for spouse’s death; or Php10,000.00 financial assistance for the child’s death.
    b. In cases where the member dies:

    **If dependent will choose to convert because the member has existing lot and mortuary plan.

    • The burial lot at the GARDENS MEMORIAL PARK at Cadawinonan, Dumaguete City, is free. Still, the deceased member’s family will bear the cost of the digging and tomb marker, which will be arranged with the Gardens Memorial Park office. Authorization from the SUCC office is needed for the burial lot assignment.
    • *Dependents now have the option to choose between the funeral plan or cremation plan.
  3. 65 years old – Senior Citizen’s Benefit (SCF and SSF)

    Members at least 65 years old who have contributed to the fund for at least 5 years may now stop contributing to the fund starting Q3 2025.

    Note: A member who is at least 65 years old but has not completed at least 5 years of contribution may opt to pay in bulk.

  4. DENTAL BENEFIT

    SUCC MULTIPURPOSE COOPERATIVE (SUCC) values the dental health of its members. In line with our commitment to community well-being and our journey towards becoming an ACCESS-branded cooperative, SUCC introduces the Dental Assistance Policy.

    • Coverage: The Dental Assistance Policy provides coverage for dental expenses incurred by SUCC members in good standing.
    • Annual Benefit: Each eligible member is entitled to Php700.00 per year towards dental treatments and services, up to the first 240 members.
    • Eligibility:
      • Members must maintain Category 1 or 2 standing with SUCC.
      • Membership status will be verified annually for continued eligibility.
    • Coverage Scope:
      • Routine dental check-ups
      • Dental cleaning and scaling
      • Emergency dental treatments
      • Fillings and extractions
    • Claim Process:
      • Members can seek reimbursement by submitting original receipts and proof of payment for dental services.
      • Claims must be submitted within 60 days of service.
      • Reimbursements will be processed within five (5) days upon receipt of complete documentation.

  1. Category 1 – Good Payor
    • Consistently paying the required monthly loan amortization
    • At least one (1) year for new members
    • At least 3 months for current members
    • Paying the minimum monthly contribution:
      • Share Capital: Php200 – can be paid in advance
      • Savings Deposit: Php100 – minimum only (can be higher amount)
      • SUCC Caring Fund: Php150 – can be paid in advance
      • Social Service Fund: Php200 – can be paid in advance
  2. Category 2 – Semi-Good Payor
    • Consistently paying at least 50% of the monthly amortization for at least 1 year
    • No loan exceeding the maturity date
    • Paying the minimum monthly contribution:
      • Share Capital: Php200 – can be paid in advance
      • Savings Deposit: Php100 – minimum only (can be higher amount)
      • SUCC Caring Fund: Php150 – can be paid in advance
      • Social Service Fund: Php200 – can be paid in advance
  3. Category 3 – Non-MIGS
    • Members not In Good Standing
    • Members who are not patronizing the coop’s business within one year
    • Members with at least 3 months default on their monthly amortization
    • Loans have exceeded the maturity date
    • Members paying less than 50% of the monthly loan amortization
  4. Category 4 – Investor
    • Any member who has not patronized of our loan services for at least a year
  5. Category 5 – Newbie
    • New member for at most one (1) year
  6. Category 6 – Senior’s Privilege
    • A SUCC member who is a pensioner no less than 60 years old with a senior citizens ID
    • Share Capital has reached an amount at least P75,000.00 and above
    • Monthly contributions (Share Capital and Savings Deposit) is not required to be paid monthly
    • The retiree may opt to continue his/her category 1 status by paying the required monthly contribution
    • To enjoy Category 1 privileges, the member must update Share Capital, Savings and loans, if any, from the time when he/she transferred to Category 6 up to present.
